Overview
Dos sacerdotes jesuitas, Sebastião Rodrigues y Francisco Garupe, viajan al Japón del siglo XVII que, bajo el shogunato Tokugawa, prohibió el catolicismo y casi todos los contactos extranjeros. The historical film has some basis in history, but Silence is not based on a true story, as some might think. Scorsese's passion project is actually based on a book, also called Silence, by Japanese author Shusaku Endo, although it does have some connections to real events.
Strong movie
A journey that make us rethink and reassess the base and the value of one’s believes. Terrific movie, great photography, brilliant dialogues. Definitely to be watched. 🔝🔝🔝👍
