A Cidade Proibida foi o palácio imperial da China desde meados da Dinastia Ming até ao fim da Dinastia Qing. Fica localizada no centro da antiga cidade de Pequim, acolhendo actualmente o "Palácio Museu".

Esta majestuosa ciudad de 980 edificios en un área de 72 hectáreas, fue hogar de 24 emperadores chinos desde su terminación en 1420, hasta que el último emperador, Puyi, abdicó en 1912. Está construida principalmente en madera y mármol y es Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
