"To see the scenic view to Sestri Levante, hike up to this viewpoint. Such a great view!"

    Monterosso al Mare

    Place

"Monterosso is very different to all other Cinque Terre lands, and many decide to stay here as an accommodation site because of its good facilities (still pricier than other locations in Liguria though). Monterosso is popular for its beach and stunning rock formation"

    Place

"Another place with colourful houses along the promenade and a beach (this one is actually one of the longest in the Western Liguria), but paid just like most of the beaches in Italy."

    Camogli

    Place

"Camogli was my favourite hidden gem in Liguria. It might be popular among Italians, but I was surprised by how come I never heard about this place before. Camogli is a small town full of colourful houses by a hill, with a stunning harbour, a pebble but quite nice beach and a pretty promenade"
  • Place Rapallo
    Rapallo

    Place

"Rapallo is not as beautiful as many other colourful towns mentioned on this list, but is a great option for accommodation. The boat and train services from here to other Ligurian destinations are really good, and accomodation is cheap. Just bear in mind that parking is quite limited here"
  • Place San Fruttuoso
    San Fruttuoso

    Place

"San Fruttuoso is an absolute hidden paradise. It's located in a corner of the Portofino Regional Park, with crystal clear blue waters and a stunning 13th-century Abbey, only accessible by boat from Camogli or Portofino or by hiking. If you visit, make sure you don't miss the Christ of the Abyss!"

"One of my favourite towns in Cinque Terre, Manarola is a beautiful one with stunning views from every corner. In love!"

    Riomaggiore

    Place

"Rio Maggiore is my third favourite town in Cinque Terre. Much smaller than Vernazza and Manarola and with less viewpoint options but still incredibly colourful and unique. View from the water is way better but unfortunately when we visited the waves where too strong and boat tours weren't running"
